CRNA Locum Opportunity Southern Illinois No Call Level 1 Trauma Competitive Pay
Job Description
A locum tenens CRNA opportunity is available approximately 2.5 hours south of Chicago, offering a consistent weekday schedule with no call responsibilities. This position provides exposure to a wide range of cases in a Level 1 Trauma setting while working within a supervised care team model.
CRNAs will manage bread-and-butter and orthopedic cases with opportunities to expand into additional specialties depending on experience and comfort level.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide anesthesia care for trauma, orthopedic, and general surgical cases
- Perform epidurals and spinal anesthesia if proficient
- Participate in regional anesthesia techniques
- Conduct pre-anesthesia assessments and develop care plans
- Monitor patients throughout procedures and recovery
- Collaborate with anesthesiologists in a supervised model (1:2 / 1:3 ratio)
- Document care using EPIC EMR system
Compensation & Benefits
- $250/hour base rate
- Daily rate range: $2,400 – $2,600
- $1,200 weekly stipend
- 1099 independent contractor position
- Emergency privileges available within 3–4 weeks
Job Requirements
- Board Certified or Board Eligible CRNA
- Illinois license required or in process
- Familiarity with EPIC EMR preferred
- Ability to obtain emergency privileges quickly
- Experience with trauma and orthopedic cases preferred
- Ability to perform epidurals and spinal anesthesia if proficient
Schedule & Work Environment
- Locum tenens assignment through December 31
- Start date: Immediate
- Schedule: Monday – Friday, 5 x 10-hour shifts
- No call responsibilities
- Hospital releases schedules in 4-month blocks:
- January – April
- May – August
- September – December
- Schedules finalized 1–1.5 months prior to each block
- Level 1 Trauma environment
- Care team model with approximately 30% medical direction
