A community hospital in the heart of South Dakota is seeking a Certified Registered Nurse Anesthetist (CRNA) for a locum tenens assignment offering excellent compensation, an all-CRNA practice model, and a predictable weekday schedule. This opportunity is ideal for CRNAs looking to maximize earnings while practicing independently in a supportive rural hospital environment.
CRNAs in this role will manage a diverse surgical case mix and have the option to participate in call for additional income. The facility prefers full-time coverage but is open to providers available for a minimum of two weeks per month.
Job Highlights

Key Responsibilities
- Provide anesthesia care for general, orthopedic, GYN, ENT, urology, and ophthalmology cases
- Perform spinal anesthesia and regional blocks for orthopedic procedures
- Administer labor epidurals as part of obstetric coverage
- Collaborate with surgical and perioperative teams to ensure safe patient care
- Maintain accurate and timely anesthesia documentation
Compensation & Benefits
- $255 per hour with guaranteed 8-hour days
- 1099 independent contractor position

Job Requirements
- Current CRNA certification in good standing
- Eligibility for licensure in South Dakota
- Comfort performing spinals, regional anesthesia, and labor epidurals
- Ability to practice independently in an all-CRNA model
- Willingness to participate in call if available
Schedule & Work Environment
- Locum tenens assignment with flexible coverage options
- Full-time preferred; minimum commitment of two weeks per month accepted
- Approximately 400 cases per month (about 20 per day)
- Call averages 1:6 weeknights and every 6th weekend (optional)
- Hospital-based anesthesia practice
