A community hospital in the heart of South Dakota is seeking a Certified Registered Nurse Anesthetist (CRNA) for a locum tenens assignment offering excellent compensation, an all-CRNA practice model, and a predictable weekday schedule. This opportunity is ideal for CRNAs looking to maximize earnings while practicing independently in a supportive rural hospital environment.

CRNAs in this role will manage a diverse surgical case mix and have the option to participate in call for additional income. The facility prefers full-time coverage but is open to providers available for a minimum of two weeks per month.

Job Highlights

Key Responsibilities

• Provide anesthesia care for general, orthopedic, GYN, ENT, urology, and ophthalmology cases
• Perform spinal anesthesia and regional blocks for orthopedic procedures
• Administer labor epidurals as part of obstetric coverage
• Collaborate with surgical and perioperative teams to ensure safe patient care
• Maintain accurate and timely anesthesia documentation

Job Requirements

• Current CRNA certification in good standing
• Eligibility for licensure in South Dakota
• Comfort performing spinals, regional anesthesia, and labor epidurals
• Ability to practice independently in an all-CRNA model
• Willingness to participate in call if available

Schedule & Work Environment

• Locum tenens assignment with flexible coverage options
• Full-time preferred; minimum commitment of two weeks per month accepted
• Approximately 400 cases per month (about 20 per day)
• Call averages 1:6 weeknights and every 6th weekend (optional)
• Hospital-based anesthesia practice
