A locum tenens Certified Registered Nurse Anesthetist (CRNA) opportunity is available at MUSC Health University Medical Center in Charleston, South Carolina. This assignment offers an adult-focused case mix within a well-organized, high-acuity academic medical center and Level I trauma facility. The role is designed for CRNAs seeking a predictable weekday schedule with exposure to both bread-and-butter cases and advanced surgical services.
The position begins February 23, 2026, with ongoing coverage needs. Providers will work 10-hour shifts from 6:00 a.m. to 4:30 p.m., with built-in time off that includes two Fridays and two Mondays off per scheduling cycle. The primary assignment location is the West Campus, with flexibility to float to Ashley Tower or the Main University Hospital as needed.
Clinical responsibilities focus primarily on orthopedic and endoscopy cases, with some vascular procedures. The anesthesia department supports a collaborative team environment with Epic used for charting. This 1099 locum role offers a competitive all-inclusive rate, paid malpractice with tail coverage, and coverage at a major academic health system.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide anesthesia care in a Level I trauma and academic medical center
- Manage primarily orthopedic and endoscopy cases with some vascular procedures
- Work scheduled 10-hour weekday shifts with built-in time off
- Float between affiliated MUSC facilities as needed
- Document anesthesia care using the Epic EMR system
Compensation & Benefits

Job Requirements
- Certified Registered Nurse Anesthetist (CRNA)
- Active South Carolina CRNA licensure required
- NBCRNA certification required
- Current ACLS certification required
