Job Description
A hospital located approximately 2.5 hours south of Chicago is seeking multiple Certified Registered Nurse Anesthetists for ongoing locum tenens coverage through the end of 2026. This assignment offers excellent daily compensation, flexible scheduling options, and a diverse clinical environment that includes trauma, orthopedic, and bread-and-butter cases.
This is a long-term locum opportunity ideal for experienced CRNAs who value consistency, strong earning potential, and a well-supported practice model. Providers may select from a variety of shift structures, including 8-hour, 10-hour, or 12-hour days, based on availability and preference. There are no call requirements, allowing for predictable workweeks and dependable time off.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide anesthesia care for a broad range of surgical procedures
- Participate in Level I trauma coverage as needed
- Deliver anesthesia services for bread-and-butter and orthopedic cases
- Place epidurals and spinals when proficient and comfortable
- Collaborate within a medically supervised anesthesia care team
- Document cases accurately using the EPIC electronic medical record system
Compensation & Benefits
- Daily compensation range of $2,400 to $2,600
- 1099 independent contractor locum tenens role
- Ongoing coverage available through December 31, 2026
- No call responsibilities
- Flexible shift options based on provider availability
Schedule & Work Environment
- Flexible scheduling with options for 5x8s, 5x10s, or 12-hour shifts
- No call, no nights required
- Supervised practice model with approximately 30% medical direction
- Typical supervision ratios of 1:2 or 1:3
- Emergency privileges available within approximately 3–4 weeks
Case Mix
- Level I trauma cases
- Bread-and-butter anesthesia
- Orthopedic surgery
- Regional anesthesia, including epidurals and spinals when proficient
- Opportunities for OB, cardiac, pediatric, or vascular cases if experienced
Job Requirements
- Active Illinois CRNA license or license in process
- NBCRNA certification required
- ACLS and PALS certifications required
- Familiarity with EPIC EMR preferred
- Ability to obtain emergency privileges quickly
- Comfort working in a supervised anesthesia model
