Job Description
Hospital-based surgical program in Texas is seeking Certified Registered Nurse Anesthetists (CRNAs) for an ongoing locum tenens assignment. This opportunity offers a collaborative care team model, consistent weekday scheduling, and a diverse surgical case mix. The facility is expanding services and transitioning into a day surgery center, creating an ongoing need for anesthesia coverage.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide anesthesia services for a variety of surgical procedures
- Conduct pre-anesthesia patient assessments
- Administer anesthesia and monitor patients during procedures
- Provide post-anesthesia recovery care
- Collaborate with anesthesiologists, surgeons, and perioperative staff
- Document anesthesia care within the Cerner electronic medical record system

- Mileage reimbursement when applicable
- Travel coordination handled by the agency travel team
Job Requirements
- Certified Registered Nurse Anesthetist (CRNA)
- Active Texas license
- Board certification required
- Current BLS certification
- Willingness to travel for assignment
Schedule & Work Environment
- Locum tenens assignment with ongoing need
- Start date available immediately
- Assignment expected to continue through 2026
- Monday through Friday schedule
- Shift options include 10-hour or 12-hour shifts
- Typical hours 7:00 AM – 5:00 PM or 7:00 AM – 7:00 PM
- Minimum availability of two weeks per month required
- Weeknight call required with a maximum of two callbacks per night
- Care team anesthesia model
- Case mix includes orthopedics, general surgery, ENT, plastics, gynecology, and pediatrics
- No obstetric cases
- Approximately 10 patients per day
- EMR system: Cerner
