Independent Locum CRNA Job in Las Cruces – Regional Blocks
Job Description
An independent locum tenens opportunity is available for a Certified Registered Nurse Anesthetist (CRNA) in Las Cruces, New Mexico. This full-time assignment is available immediately upon credentialing and is scheduled for an initial three-month term with the option to extend. The role is ideal for CRNAs seeking autonomous practice in a balanced surgical environment with predictable weekday coverage.
CRNAs will work Monday through Friday with flexibility to choose either 8-hour or 10-hour shifts. The call ratio is approximately 1:10, with a 30% callback rate. Providers manage an average of four cases per shift and practice independently within the operating room and surgery department.
The case mix includes general surgery, orthopedics, vascular procedures, spine (non-cranial neuro), and both adult and pediatric patients. Regional anesthesia skills are required, including spinal and epidural anesthesia. This position excludes cardiac, thoracic, trauma, and neonatal cases, offering a well-defined and manageable clinical scope.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide independent anesthesia care in an OR and surgery department setting
- Perform regional anesthesia blocks, including spinal and epidural techniques
- Manage anesthesia for general, orthopedic, vascular, and spine procedures
- Participate in scheduled call rotation with defined callback expectations
- Deliver safe, high-quality anesthesia care for adult and pediatric patients

Job Requirements
- Certified Registered Nurse Anesthetist (CRNA)
- Active New Mexico CRNA license required
- Current ACLS, BLS, and PALS certifications required
