Locum CRNA – 24-Hour In-House OB Coverage Near Chicago
Job Description
An experienced Certified Registered Nurse Anesthetist (CRNA) is needed for a locum tenens / PRN opportunity providing 24-hour in-house obstetric anesthesia coverage at a facility located near Chicago, Illinois. This position is designed for highly experienced CRNAs who are comfortable managing continuous OB coverage in an in-house setting and are seeking focused, short-term or ongoing locum assignments.
The role involves providing round-the-clock anesthesia services dedicated to obstetrics, requiring strong clinical judgment, independence, and the ability to respond quickly to emergent situations. This opportunity is best suited for CRNAs with extensive OB experience who prefer a defined scope of practice without elective OR responsibilities.
Schedule & Coverage Model
This position consists of 24-hour in-house shifts providing continuous obstetric anesthesia coverage. Providers must remain on-site for the full duration of the shift. The assignment is locum/PRN in nature and may be structured based on availability and facility needs.
Malpractice coverage is provided, allowing providers to focus entirely on patient care without additional administrative burden. Candidates must be local to the Chicago area, as this role does not include travel or lodging support.
Experience Requirements
Due to the acuity and autonomy of the role, a minimum of six years of CRNA experience is required. New graduates are not eligible for this opportunity. Candidates must be comfortable practicing independently in an OB-only environment and managing in-house responsibilities for extended shifts.
Licensure & Qualifications
- Active Illinois CRNA license required
- Minimum of six years of CRNA experience
- Significant obstetric anesthesia experience required
- Must be local to the Chicago area
