Job Description

A community-based hospital in South Dakota is seeking a Certified Registered Nurse Anesthetist (CRNA) for a locum tenens assignment with immediate start through the end of May. This opportunity is part of an all-CRNA anesthesia model and offers a diverse case mix, strong compensation, and comprehensive travel support.

CRNAs in this role will practice with a high level of independence while supporting operating rooms, a procedure room, and obstetric services. The facility values continuity and prefers consistent coverage from one provider but is flexible with scheduling arrangements, including shared coverage if needed.

Key Responsibilities

• Provide anesthesia care for general, orthopedic, OB, GYN, ENT, urology, and ophthalmology cases
• Perform spinal anesthesia, regional blocks for orthopedic cases, and labor epidurals
• Support obstetric anesthesia including C-sections and labor epidural management
• Participate in weekday and weekend call as agreed upon
• Maintain accurate anesthesia documentation using Meditech EMR

Compensation & Benefits

• $250/hour with an 8-hour daily minimum
• Overtime paid at $265/hour for hours beyond 8 per day
• $400 weekday beeper call stipend (Monday–Friday evenings)
• Callback rate of $265/hour with 2-hour minimum
• Weekend call: $1,800 per 24-hour period with additional callback pay
• $30 daily meal stipend
• Housing provided or optional housing stipend
• Flight, mileage, and car rental reimbursed

Job Requirements

• Current CRNA certification in good standing
• Eligibility for licensure in South Dakota
• Comfort performing spinal anesthesia and regional blocks
• Labor epidural skills required if taking call
• Ability to respond to call within 20 minutes

Schedule & Work Environment

• Locum tenens assignment ASAP through end of May
• Daily schedule: 6:30 AM – 3:00 PM with 30-minute unpaid lunch
• Three operating rooms and one procedure room running daily
• Approximately 400 cases per month
• Call averages 1:6 weeknights and every 6th weekend
• Post-call day off provided
