Locum Tenens CRNA Opportunity in Northern Illinois
Job Description
A hospital in Northern Illinois is seeking Certified Registered Nurse Anesthetists (CRNAs) for an ongoing locum tenens assignment located approximately 2.5 hours from Chicago. This role offers consistent coverage needs with flexible scheduling options and a supervised anesthesia care model.
CRNAs in this position will support a broad surgical service line that includes bread-and-butter cases, orthopedics, and trauma. Providers with additional experience in obstetric, cardiac, regional, or spinal anesthesia may utilize those skills as desired, though they are not required for this assignment.
Job Highlights

- Daily rate of $2,400–$2,600
- Flexible schedules including 5x10s, 5x8s, or 12-hour shifts
- Supervised anesthesia model with 1:2 or 1:3 ratios
- Trauma, bread-and-butter, and orthopedic case mix
Key Responsibilities
- Provide anesthesia care for trauma, general, and orthopedic procedures
- Participate in supervised anesthesia care team model
- Perform epidurals and spinal anesthesia if proficient
- Support CV or pediatric cases if experienced and credentialed
- Maintain accurate anesthesia documentation using EPIC EMR
Compensation & Benefits
- Daily compensation ranging from $2,400 to $2,600
- 1099 independent contractor position

Job Requirements
- Current CRNA certification (board certified or board eligible)
- Active Illinois CRNA license or license in process
- Familiarity with EPIC EMR preferred
- Ability to obtain emergency privileges within 3–4 weeks
- Comfort working in a supervised anesthesia care model
