Level I Trauma Locum CRNA Role in Roanoke – No Call / 8–10 Hour Shifts
Job Description
A locum tenens opportunity is available for Certified Registered Nurse Anesthetists (CRNAs) in Roanoke, Virginia at a large Level I trauma teaching hospital. This full-time assignment offers a consistent weekday schedule with no call, nights, or weekend requirements.
CRNAs will work in a medical direction model providing anesthesia services for a wide variety of complex surgical cases in a high-acuity hospital environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide anesthesia services for complex surgical cases
- Perform pre-anesthesia evaluations and develop anesthesia care plans
- Administer anesthesia and monitor patients throughout procedures
- Perform peripheral nerve blocks
- Manage airway and patient stability during procedures
- Provide post-anesthesia care and recovery monitoring
- Document anesthesia care using Epic EMR
- Collaborate with anesthesiologists and surgical teams in a medical direction model

Job Requirements
- Certified Registered Nurse Anesthetist (CRNA)
- Active Virginia license or ability to obtain licensure
- Full-time availability required
- Experience with complex and high-acuity patients preferred
- Proficiency in peripheral nerve blocks
Schedule & Work Environment
- Locum tenens assignment starting in July
- Contract length 4–12 months with option to extend
- Full-time Monday through Friday schedule
- 8-hour and 10-hour shift options
- No call, nights, or weekend requirements
- Level I trauma center with 703 beds
- Private teaching hospital environment
- Medical direction anesthesia model
- Case mix includes neuro, orthopedic, trauma, general surgery, gynecology, and endoscopy
- No cardiac, obstetric, or pediatric cases
- Credentialing timeline approximately 75 days with expedited paperwork process
