Job Description
Malabar Anesthesia Services, Inc. is seeking a skilled and independent Certified Registered Nurse Anesthetist (CRNA) for locum tenens coverage at an Ophthalmology Ambulatory Surgery Center (ASC) in Columbus, Ohio. This opportunity is ideal for CRNAs who excel in providing conscious sedation for ophthalmic procedures in a relaxed, low-stress outpatient environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Administer conscious sedation for cataract and other ophthalmic procedures.
- Typical sedation includes 1–2 mg Versed with occasional 1 mL Fentanyl.
- Provide support for retrobulbar blocks performed by ophthalmologists (rare Diprivan use).
- Monitor patients and ensure their safety and comfort throughout the perioperative process.
Compensation & Benefits
- $175 per hour with an 8-hour daily minimum guarantee
- Medical malpractice insurance provided
- 1099 independent contractor position
Job Requirements
- Current CRNA certification and active Ohio license
- Experience with sedation anesthesia in an ASC setting
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively with surgical teams
Schedule & Work Environment
- Locum tenens assignment with flexible scheduling
- No call, nights, weekends, or holidays
- Outpatient ophthalmology surgery center
