Job Description

A locum tenens opportunity is available for an experienced Certified Registered Nurse Anesthetist to support obstetric anesthesia services in Colorado. This assignment is focused exclusively on OB anesthesia and is ideal for CRNAs who are confident managing labor and delivery cases in a hospital-based setting.

The position offers a defined 13-week assignment beginning in April, following credentialing, with a balanced weekly schedule that includes both 12-hour and 24-hour shifts. The practice operates under a medically directed model and utilizes the Meditech electronic medical record system.

Key Responsibilities

  • Provide anesthesia care for obstetric patients in a hospital environment
  • Perform labor epidurals, spinal anesthesia, and regional blocks as needed
  • Manage anesthesia services for routine and urgent OB cases
  • Work collaboratively with anesthesiologists and OB teams under medical direction
  • Monitor patients throughout anesthesia care and respond to changes in condition
  • Complete accurate and timely documentation within the EMR system

Schedule & Assignment Details

  • Locum tenens assignment length of 13 weeks
  • Start date anticipated in April following credentialing
  • Three shifts per week
  • Combination of 12-hour weekday or weekend shifts
  • 24-hour weekend shifts included
  • Approximately 36 scheduled hours per week

Candidate Qualifications

  • Active and unrestricted CRNA license in Colorado or compact-eligible state
  • Minimum of one year of recent obstetric anesthesia experience
  • Proficiency with epidurals, spinals, and regional anesthesia techniques
  • Current BLS and ACLS certifications
  • Ability to work extended shifts, including weekends
  • Comfort practicing independently within a medically directed model
