Locum CRNA Needed in South Dakota – $250/hr (All-CRNA Practice | Call Optional)

Job Description

A 60-bed hospital in South Dakota is seeking a locum CRNA for coverage through the end of May. This is a 1099 opportunity within an all-CRNA practice model covering 3 operating rooms plus 1 procedure room daily.

The anesthesia team consists of 6 CRNAs (currently staffed with 5). The facility prefers consistent coverage from one provider but is open to flexible scheduling options.

Key Responsibilities

• Provide anesthesia for general, ortho, GYN, ENT, urology, and ophthalmology cases
• Perform spinals, regional anesthesia for orthopedic cases, and labor epidurals
• Participate in OB coverage (30–40 deliveries per month; 3–4 C-sections weekly)
• Average approximately 400 cases per month (about 20 per day)

Compensation & Benefits

• $250/hour with 8-hour daily minimum
• Overtime: $265/hour (rounded to nearest 15 minutes)
• $400 to carry weekday beeper (M–F evenings)
• Call back: $265/hour with 2-hour minimum
• Weekend call: $1,800 per 24-hour period (0700–0700) plus call-back pay
• Mileage or flight and rental car reimbursed
• $30 meal stipend
• Housing provided or housing stipend available

Schedule & Call

• Daily schedule: 6:30am – 3:00pm
• First cases begin no later than 7:30am
• ½-hour unpaid lunch (providers log actual hours if break not received)
• Call averages 1:6 weeknights and every 6th weekend
• 20-minute call response time
• Post-call day off provided
• Call participation preferred but negotiable if discussed at presentation

Work Environment

• All-CRNA anesthesia team
• EMR: Meditech
• CRNAs work autonomously
• Regional skills required if taking call (labor epidurals required)
