Locum Tenens CRNA – All-CRNA Hospital Practice in South Dakota
Job Description
This locum tenens CRNA opportunity is with a 60-bed hospital in South Dakota operating an all-CRNA anesthesia model. The facility runs three operating rooms daily plus one procedure room, with a diverse and steady case mix. This assignment offers strong autonomy, consistent scheduling, and excellent locum support, including housing, travel reimbursement, and premium hourly pay.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide anesthesia services in an all-CRNA hospital practice
- Independently perform spinals, regional anesthesia for orthopedic cases, and labor epidurals
- Manage a varied case mix including general surgery, orthopedics, OB/GYN, ENT, urology, and ophthalmology
- Participate in weekday and weekend call if agreed upon
- Utilize Meditech electronic medical record system
Compensation & Benefits
- $250/hour weekday rate with an 8-hour daily minimum
- Overtime paid at $265/hour for hours worked beyond 8 per day
- $400 flat rate to carry weekday evening beeper call (M–F)
- Weekday call-back pay: $265/hour with a 2-hour minimum
- Weekend call: $1,800 per 24-hour period (includes 2 gratis hours)
- Additional weekend call-back pay: $260/hour with 2-hour minimums
- Housing provided or optional housing stipend
- Flight, mileage, and car rental fully reimbursed
- $30/day meal stipend
Job Requirements
- Active CRNA license eligible for South Dakota practice
- Strong labor epidural skills required if taking call
- Comfortable with regional anesthesia and independent practice
- Ability to meet 20-minute call response time if participating in call
Schedule & Work Environment
- Locum tenens assignment: ASAP through end of May
- Facility prefers one provider for maximum continuity but open to two-provider rotation
- Scheduling options include full coverage or 3 weeks on / 1 week off
- Daily schedule: 6:30am–3:00pm with a 30-minute unpaid lunch
- Post-call day worked, with flexibility based on call activity
- Call averages 1:6 weekday nights and every 6th weekend (if participating)
- Approximately 400 cases per month and 30–40 deliveries per month
