Job Description
A hospital-based anesthesia practice in Idaho is seeking experienced Certified Registered Nurse Anesthetists for a locum tenens assignment beginning January 2026. This is a full-time, continuous coverage opportunity designed for CRNAs comfortable in a higher-acuity environment, including Level II trauma cases. The assignment offers guaranteed hours, overtime eligibility, and the potential for contract extension.
Practice Environment
This is a hospital-based practice utilizing the EPIC electronic medical record system. The facility requires experienced CRNAs who can function confidently in a trauma-capable setting. The anesthesia care model does not require CRNAs to perform their own regional blocks, though spinal anesthesia is part of the clinical scope.
Case Mix & Anesthesia Scope
- Level II trauma anesthesia coverage
- Spinal anesthesia required
- Regional anesthesia blocks not required
- General anesthesia for inpatient and surgical cases
Schedule & Workload
- Locum tenens position
- Continuous full-time coverage required
- Guaranteed 40 hours per week
- Shift lengths vary between 8, 10, and 12 hours
- Overtime paid after 40 hours
- At least one weekend shift required during each 3-month assignment
Clinical Responsibilities
- Provision of anesthesia care for trauma and surgical cases
- Performance of spinal anesthesia
- Preoperative assessment and perioperative management
- Intraoperative monitoring and postoperative handoff
- Collaboration with anesthesia and surgical teams
Compensation & Employment Structure
- Employment model: 1099
- Guaranteed 40-hour workweeks
- Overtime compensation for hours exceeding 40 per week
- Contract length: 3 months with option to extend
Candidate Requirements
- Active Idaho CRNA license required or willingness to obtain
- NBCRNA certification required
- Minimum of 1 year CRNA experience required
- ACLS required
- PALS required
- DEA required
- CSR required
