Locum CRNA Opportunity – Hospital Assignment in Southwest Missouri
Position Overview
This locum tenens CRNA assignment supports a high-acuity inpatient anesthesia service in Southwest Missouri that requires experienced clinicians comfortable managing complex surgical and procedural cases. The facility is seeking seasoned CRNAs who can function effectively within a medically directed environment and contribute immediately to a demanding case mix that goes well beyond routine bread-and-butter anesthesia.
This role is structured for CRNAs who prefer weekday schedules, defined shift lengths, and exposure to advanced clinical cases without weekend or call obligations. Coverage is needed on an ongoing basis, making this a strong fit for clinicians seeking consistent hospital-based work with predictable hours.
Clinical Responsibilities
- Provide anesthesia care for complex inpatient surgical and procedural cases
- Perform comprehensive pre-anesthesia assessments and formulate anesthesia plans
- Manage airway, ventilation, and hemodynamics throughout procedures
- Place and manage arterial lines as required by case complexity
- Collaborate with anesthesiologists under a 4:1 medical direction model
- Document anesthesia services accurately within the Epic EMR system
Case Complexity & Service Lines
- Complex neuro and spine surgery
- Cardiac anesthesia and major vascular cases
- ENT and electrophysiology procedures
- Labor and delivery with OB anesthesia and epidurals
- MRI and CT anesthesia coverage
- Adult and pediatric patient populations
Schedule & Coverage Details
- Schedule: Monday through Friday
- Shift length: 10-hour shifts
- Shift hours: 7:00 AM – 5:00 PM CST
- No weekends required
- No call requirements at this time
- Start date: ASAP
- Assignment duration: Ongoing
Compensation & Support
- Daily rate range: $2,200 – $2,400 per day
- Malpractice insurance provided with tail or occurrence coverage
- Credentialing timeframe approximately 90 days
- Up to two CRNAs needed for coverage
Candidate Requirements
- Active Missouri CRNA license required
- Current NBCRNA certification
- Minimum of 12 months of documented case logs
- Proficiency with arterial lines, intubation, and ventilator management
- Comfort working in high-acuity inpatient settings
- New graduates not accepted for this assignment
